Welcome!
Biography
Having no formal musical training, Krystl’s dream of becoming a singer seemed far out of reach and almost a figure of her imagination, until the year 2007. After completing a degree in Built Environment (Architectural Studies) in Queensland, Australia, in 2006, she began her search for a career she was truly passionate about. Her Grandmother then offered to teach her singing in Victoria. After a year of intensive vocal study, she was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) to study an Advanced Diploma of Music/Bachelor of Music (conversion).
Krystl is currently studying her Master of Arts (Singing) at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), London, under the tutelage of Julie Kennard and Iain Ledingham. With the RAM, she has performed roles such as the ‘title role’ in Handel’s ‘Rodelinda,’ Despina in Mozart’s ‘Così fan tutte,’ Susan in Berkeley’s 'A Dinner Engagement,’ Euridice in Gluck's 'Orfeo ed Euridice,' Zerlina in Mozart's 'Don Giovanni,' and Gianetta in Donizetti's 'L'elisir d'amore.' Previous roles at WAAPA, under the tutelage of Patricia Price, Harry Coghill and Linda Barcan; include Anne Trulove in Stravinsky’s ‘The Rake’s Progress’, Rosina in Rossini’s ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’, and soprano soloist in a concert production of Purcell's 'Fairy Queen.'
Krystl was a 2012 John Kerr Award for English Song finalist, received a "High Commendation" for her performance in The Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize, Marjorie Thomas Award & Flora Nielsen Prize (2012), 2nd place for North of Perth Music Festival ‘Art Song’ (2010), 2nd place for Fremantle Eisteddfod ‘Lieder’ (2009); has performed as a soprano soloist in Monteverdi's 'Christmas Vespers' and 'Magnificat,' Rossini's 'Stabat Mater,' as an emerging artist with Art Song Perth, and as a soloist in many other concerts in the UK, Italy, and Australia.
Krystl is generously supported by the RAM and Sylvia Simpson Fellowship, Tait Memorial Trust, Mario Lanza Educational Foundation, Josephine Baker Trust, Opera and Arts Support Group (Australia), Opus 50 Charitable Trust, Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body; and private sponsors. Krystl was nominated for the 2011 West Australian Citizen of the Year Awards and has been a guest artist on 720 ABC Radio Perth, Australia.
Krystl aspires to have an international career singing various roles in major opera houses and concert venues around the world. Opera is her passion.

Testimonials
“We were so happy we found Krystl to sing at our ceremony. She was professional, enthusiastic, friendly, flexible, well presented and sang so beautifully. Many of our guests commented on how lovely it was to have such a skilled vocalist performing on our special day.”
Sarah Tidey
“Krystl performed regularly at The Wild Fig Café and
created a gorgeous sound track and a passionate, dramatic
ambience for our popular ‘opera and pasta’ night. Customers
revelled in her voice and came back weekly to dine, wine and
to soak up the Krystl’s rich vocals.
Krystl also managed our ‘opera and pasta’ night performers
including arranging different singers and pianists, seeking
feedback from customers and liaising with myself. Krystl was
reliable, professional and a joy to work with.
Krystl added so much value to The Wild Fig Café’s ‘opera and
pasta night’. It would not have been such a huge success
without her.”
